Filmmakers are able to submit their films for consideration. The fee is $25, $10 for Student Films.

The Billy the Kid Film Festival challenges creative filmmakers to take the trail less traveled — to explore the lives of the disenfranchised, the broken, and the outcast. Think of the stories that need to be told.
The Billy the Kid Film Festival accepts full length and short films (35 minutes maximum), and takes place the first weekend in November in historic Hico, Texas. It is our mission to Hico, Texas, celebrate film makers from all over the world, while giving our local film makers and residents a place to come together and appreciate the art of making movies. Our Executive Committee is made up of movie critics, film makers, local business owners and educators.

Rules & Terms
We accept both narrative and documentary films. We also have categories which include Drama, Western and Comedy Film category. We have separate awards for Student filmmakers (and 2019 graduates). We also have a category specifically for local filmmakers (living within a 150-mile radius of Hico Texas.
The Billy the Kid Film Festival welcomes new ideas and would love to work with any organization that shares interest in the arts and entertainment industry.
We have a wide range of unique sponsorship opportunities for businesses and partners who want to be involved in our annual event and other occasions throughout the year; allowing companies to identify with major players in the film industry and helping to drive their brands among an affluent consumer audience.
The Billy the Kid Film Festival is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting film, filmmakers and film education through our annual event. In November, 2019, we will bring back a full film festival to Hico, the Hometown of "Brushy Bill" Robert, alias "Billy the Kid".
